US size 24

My top is a black vintage-style longline bra from Torrid that I embellished with gold mirrors pried off a disco ball and a cascade of crystals in gold, gray, champagne and clear. Many people thought my separates were actually a dress, and now that I see the photos, I kinda wish it was. If had a gold sequin half circle skirt to attach to a bodice like that, I’d be in full-on drag queen glamour heaven. (Note to self: Source the gold sequin fabric, and make that skirt.)

Heading to a wedding and looking fabulous. the invite said “Dinner and dancing to follow, in your glamourous attire” So I went with a fifties glam look.

I made all the jewelry, and the shoes were $4 from the Salvation Army.

The fur is my sister’s, it used to be her great grandmother’s. (It’s fake)

The wondrous dress is from Killer Curves, an Australian website with lovely things. the sizing was perfect. it was $165, which is more than I’d usually spend on clothes, but it is so well made, i bet it will last.

I felt like a princess, and got SO many complements.

The red shirt is an ancient maternity shirt from either Big W or Target, I got it when i was pregnant, and my kid is now three.
The skirt I made myself out of a size 10 shirt from a Salvation Army shop and the waistband of some panties.
Bike shorts for the inevitable chafing.
