Top: Evans, unknown size, about 5 years old. Trousers: Evans, 26, via charity shop. Shoes (not pictured): High-top black Converse with blue laces, size 9UK, about 6 years old.
All ready to go out to a rockstar party!! I’m channeling Cyndi Lauper and Madonna. From bottom to top:
Shoes: Big W $30
Tights: Best and Less, size 26, $15ish
Legwarmers: chopped off the ends of some Tree of Life tights I’ve had for years.
Skirt: Home made!!
Black shirt: Target singlet
Red shirt: band shirt from my brother’s band City Falls. I cut the neck out ages ago to make it more feminine.
Gloves and hair bow: handmade.
Hair is all my own!!! The eye shadows are made by Zenthia of Unique Boutique: https://www.facebook.com/UniqueBoutiquesPigments I can’t recommend her enough.
US size 24
My top is a black vintage-style longline bra from Torrid that I embellished with gold mirrors pried off a disco ball and a cascade of crystals in gold, gray, champagne and clear. Many people thought my separates were actually a dress, and now that I see the photos, I kinda wish it was. If had a gold sequin half circle skirt to attach to a bodice like that, I’d be in full-on drag queen glamour heaven. (Note to self: Source the gold sequin fabric, and make that skirt.)
Full outfit details are on Plump Pinup Life & Style.
The bra is for sale at Plump Pinup Couturier & Vintage Resale.
Shirt and skirt, both 3x, from Old Navy (and mostly-unseen bra from Lane Bryant). Necklace from Kimba and Jane. I felt extremely fancy today!
Heading to a wedding and looking fabulous. the invite said “Dinner and dancing to follow, in your glamourous attire” So I went with a fifties glam look.
I made all the jewelry, and the shoes were $4 from the Salvation Army.
The fur is my sister’s, it used to be her great grandmother’s. (It’s fake)
The wondrous dress is from Killer Curves, an Australian website with lovely things. the sizing was perfect. it was $165, which is more than I’d usually spend on clothes, but it is so well made, i bet it will last.
I felt like a princess, and got SO many complements.
